WEST SUBURBAN YMCA | Newton, MA

Sgarzi Associates was hired by the West Suburban YMCA to develop ideas for new support buildings at the popular Camp Chickami Day Camp. Fitting within the aesthetic of a wooded day camp, the buildings were perched among the trees—like tree houses—linked with suspended boardwalks and balconies. The design provided for new toilet rooms and a nurses' station, and offered full handicap accessibility, durability, low maintenance and an energy efficient solution.
